Pharmaceutical Grade CBD Oil Therapeutic Effects
Yet, not everybody has a great experience with marijuana. While the THC component is what cannabis connoisseurs seek, for others, it’s precisely what they don’t like about marijuana.
Fortunately, there’s pharmaceutical grade CBD oil. Get the official guide to CBD gummies dosage from here.
What Is Pharmacy Grade CBD?
The Cannabis sativa plant is loaded with dozens of biologically active ingredients known as cannabinoids. Cannabidiol, or CBD, is one of them. Until recently, CBD has been in the shadows of its more illustrious cousin, tetrahydrocannabinol, or THC.
For some users, THC induces a sense of euphoria and well-being. For others though, this psychoactive compound can have the opposite effect. Therefore, THC is not a viable option for them when it comes to treating certain conditions or illnesses.
Cannabis plants that produce a lot of THC are known as marijuana plants, while those that have no THC are considered hemp. All of them contain pharmaceutical grade CBD oil though.
In 2018, the Farm Bill made growing hemp completely legal in the United States and so CBD has become far more commonplace.
As such, if you’re considering trying CBD, it can be difficult to determine the best kind. Pharmacy grade CBD is a great place to start. Typically, pharmaceutical-grade CBD is an indicator that the product has a high purity level and is free of fillers and other toxic ingredients.
In other cases, the term can refer to a product that comes from CBD companies started by pharmacists. They will also use terms pharmacist-developed and pharmaceutical-grade as descriptors.
Whatever the case, you can’t go wrong with pharmacy grade CBD. And more and more people are using CBD because of its potential ability to do the following.
1. Relieve Chronic Pain & Inflammation
Researchers are looking at ways CBD can provide treatment for chronic pain. According to one study, CBD significantly reduced chronic inflammation and pain in some mice and rats.
People who experience chronic pain from fibromyalgia have used CBD oil to lessen that pain. CBD has been effective for relieving pain from other conditions as well. In fact, Canada has even approved CBD for the treatment of multiple sclerosis and cancer pain.
Meanwhile, CBD has also shown effective in treating chronic inflammation – which is often the source of chronic pain. This is especially good news given that chronic inflammation can lead to other non-infectious diseases like heart disease, cancer, Alzheimer’s Disease, Type 1 Diabetes, and even autoimmune disease.
Taking a CBD supplement might work toward preventing these diseases.
2. Reduce Anxiety and Depression
People who suffer from anxiety and depression don’t just feel nervous or sad. It’s more much more complex than that. These conditions not only steal one’s well-being but can also have devastating impacts on one’s health.
Currently, anxiety and depression are typically treated with pharmaceutical drugs. And while anti-depressants can be effective, they can cause any number of undesirable side effects, including insomnia, sexual dysfunction, drowsiness, headache, or agitation. Meanwhile, anti-anxiety medications like benzodiazepines are potentially habit-forming and could lead to substance abuse.
CBD oil is a safer and more natural approach. And it’s showing to be a considerably effective one as well.
In one Brazilian study, participants received either oral CBD or a placebo 90 minutes before they underwent a simulated public speaking test. The researchers found that those who took a 300-mg dose of CBD had a significant reduction in anxiety and performed much better.
Plus, it’s known that CBD has the ability to act on the brain’s receptors for serotonin. This is the neurotransmitter in the brain that regulates mood and social behavior. Thus far, several animal studies with CBD have shown it has antidepressant-like effects.
3. Improve Cardiovascular Health
The prevalence of heart disease is increasing across the globe. Of course, the first course of action in treating heart disease is to maintain a healthy diet and lifestyle. However, pharmaceutical grade CBD oil could just be a viable option for lowering blood pressure.
In a small study in 2017, researchers found that CBD can help prevent blood-pressure fluctuations that are a result of stress. In the study, nine volunteers were given a single dose of either CBD or a placebo. They were then exposed to a stressful event. Those treated with the CBD had lower blood pressure (both before and after the event) than those given a placebo.
According to researchers, cannabidiol also helped by reducing artery blockage, stress-induced cardiovascular response, and even cholesterol level. It also helps prevent oxidative stress and inflammation – both of which can be precursors to heart disease.
4. Alleviate Cancer-Related Symptoms
Going through cancer treatment can be a stressful experience. CBD may help reduce symptoms related to cancer, as well as the awful side effects from treatment such as vomiting, nausea, and pain.
One study looked at the effects of CBD and THC in 177 people with cancer-related pain for whom conventional pain medication wasn’t providing relief. Some were given an extract with just THC, while others were given an extract with both THC and CBD. Those who were treated with an extract containing both compounds experienced a more significant reduction in pain.
This same combination of CBD and THC may also help with chemotherapy-related nausea and vomiting — especially when traditional drugs used to treat these side effects fall short.
Test-tube studies are also showing that CBD may have anti-cancer properties. Just as animal studies are showing promising effects of CBD on anxiety and depression, similar studies are conducted for CBD and its relation to cancer. The results have been promising.
These studies suggest that pharmaceutical grade CBD oil might work the same way in people.
